Costs

The price of an item is mainly depending on quality, quantity, size and the method of manufacturing.
Quality:Ranging from highest to lowest; hard enamel, imitation hard enamel, soft enamel epoxy, photo-etched and silk-screen or offset photos print.

Quantity:The larger the quantity the cheaper it is per item.
Size:The smaller the size the cheaper it will be.

Method: Die struck method of manufacturing will produce a higher quality image badge then Spin Cast. Therefore Die Struck is generally costing more over other method of manufacturing.

Die Struck can produce all kinds of enamel. Spin Cast Method and Photo-Etched can only produce a Soft Enamel badge with the Epoxy Top if required (but it is recommended).

Lead Time

Normal lead-time is 6-10 weeks. In some cases we can deliver within 3 weeks and this may incur addition costs for the use of Express and Priority Freight Services.

Initial or Once Off Cost

Before a badge or medal can be produced Tooling and Die or Mold is required. There is a once off setup fee for this process.

Rubber-stamp Analogy

For easy comprehension we always like to give the rubber-stamp analogy; a rubber stamp is a negative that will leave a positive print. If any changes are required to the print, whether reduction in size or any modification to the print, a new rubber-stamp is needed. A Die or Mold is no different.

What is a Die?

A die is usually a cylindrical block of steel that has the negative impression of a badge or medal embedded on one flat end of the steel.

What is a Mold?

A mold is made out of high quality rubber that can withstand high temperature and used with the centrifugal cast type of manufacturing process.

This information is provided to help you purchase the right product for the right price.
